CEO of Innate Therapeutics Simon Wilkinson had been impressed by the graphics Afterglow had produced for
Berkeley University and George Andrews Productions in the documentary about NZ born geneticist and
evolutionary genius Allan Wilson. Innate had a NZ Government license in place to manufacture MIS416 for human
trials and was about to head full-on into revenue raising to fund them. Simon was aware that a visual-animated
representation of the process would be of huge benefit – prospective investors could see and understand the
mechanisms of MIS416 activity immediately, thus avoiding the frustration and blank faces often associated with a
verbal explanation.
The process by which MIS416 immune response modifier induces different types of anti-tumor activity was
incredibly complex and required interpretation and explanation for mograph maestro Gary Leano to get his head
around. Micro particle guru and chief scientific officer Dr Gill Webster rose brilliantly to the task. Gill has
extensive expertise in the scientific development and commercialization of agents which direct the immune system
and her own company ImmunoStrategy often assists in the preparation of marketing material including the
development of text and graphics-based teaching or promotional material.
Animation was broken into story parts - each animated individually before a final assembly. As sections were completed they were ftp’d to Gill for approval. Her revisions in place Gary would move on to the next segment.
